Dragged kicking & screaming on a 3 day jolly to Rioja In 2017 I discovered this Amongst others. Hearing that the prices would soon skyrocket due to drought & frost damage (No doubt Brexit has kicked us in the goolies too!) I figured we could have a taste.
This wine is intense cherry in colour with a hint of ageing at the rim. On the nose, it has a wide range of delicate red fruits accompanied by smoky nuances and hints of vanilla from the new American oak. On the palate, the wine is velvety and round, with smooth tannins and good acidity. The finish is balanced and long. 100% Tempranillo
Reserva means a minimum of 2 years ageing & in this case American oak barrels for a minimum of 18 months and maturing in the bottle for at least 18 months.
